The American Jessica Peguula secured a place in the Masters 100 semifinal of Miami, on Thursday, defeating British Emma Raducanu, by 2 sets to 1, with partials from 6/4, 6/7 (3/7) and 6/3.
For a spot in the tournament final, Pegula will face Filipina Alexandra Eala, that eliminated Polish Iga Swiatek and two sets: 6/2 and 7/5.
In a very balanced duel, Pegula won the first set, thanks to a breach of withdrawal in the sixth game, when 4/2 in the first partial. From then on, the two tennis players kept the withdrawal and the Americana closed on 6/4.

In the second set, Raducanu got 3/1, when breaking the withdrawal of Pegula and was 5/2, but allowed the reaction of the rival, who tied 5/5. The partial decision went to Tie-Break and the British won 7/3.
The third set was dominated by Pegula, who gained an advantage as early as the second set and kept the game dominion until 6/2 marked over Raducanu.
In the male, the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov needed 2:48 to defeat, by turn, the Argentine Francisco Cerudolo by 2 sets 1, with partials of 6/7 (6/8), 6/4 and 7/6 (7/3). The 15th in the world even saved a Match-Point of the South American opponent, 24th in the world. Dimitrov tries to repeat the 2024 campaign when he reached the final.
