What do you think of when you hear the name “Ghibli”? Probably also to the beautifully drawn films that explore everyday life or fantastic worlds, right? The special style of the Ghibli films has firmly established itself in the anime community and beyond. According to studio founder and film legend Hayao Miyazaki, this is particularly due to the human work behind the works.

In the short video section you can see a large human frame. It scurrying around on all sides. Although the scene is animated, it has something very real. None of the people in the video of the others and all move away at their own pace.
Examples from the neckline: A woman with a child is slowly progressing because she has to be careful. Elsewhere, a young man snows through half the picture by skilfully pressing himself between people. In addition, another man focuses on catching the hand of a young woman, which he creates at the end of the four seconds.
So you see that the chaotic overall picture does not forget the individual people through the detailed work, but make them appear more alive than in comparable works of today.

Ghibli founder is against artificial intelligence
Film legend Hayao Miyazaki is not a fan of artificial intelligence, which is why his works and those of the studio distance themselves. In the documentation Never-Ending Man: Hayao Miyazaki From 2016 he even described AI as a “insult to life itself”.
The background for this statement is that Miyazaki simply cannot be interested in this technology. It is too far away from the reality of people and too unnatural. When looking at the AI-generated scene, he “literally disgusted”.
In the following article, colleague Jonas has classified the current chattgpt trend of pictures in the Ghibli-style:
Miyazaki’s dislike against AI, however, does not mean that the studio does not completely do without it. In fact, he himself has before the publication of Princess Mononoke experimented with it and the learned learned in the film.
Since then it has not been unusual for Studio Ghibli employees to work with CGI. The legendary hand -drawn style did not lose the studio.
Do you see the topic of AI and art similar to Hayao Miyazaki or are there any advantages in it?
