Eintracht Frankfurt – 1. FC Heidenheim 3: 0 (2: 0)
The last game of the 29th Bundesliga Day ended with a win for Eintracht Frankfurt. In the local arena, the Hesse won 3-0 against the relegation candidate 1. FC Heidenheim. The Frankfurter thus consolidated their third place in the table and took a big step towards the Champions League qualification.
Jean-Mattéo Bahoya put the Frankfurter in the lead with an early goal (10th minute). Shortly before the half -time break, Robin Koch increased for Eintracht (42nd). Hugo Ekitiké finally scored the goal to the final score in the 72nd minute.
VfB Stuttgart – SV Werder Bremen 1: 2 (1: 1)
With the 1-2 defeat against Werder Bremen, VfB Stuttgart had to accept its fifth home defeat as a result-the Swabians set up a new negative record. Stuttgart is five points away from sixth place and thus secure participation in the European Cup. After the third win in a series, the Bremen are only three points behind six.
The first goal of the game was scored by the Stuttgart Leonidas Stergiou (19th), Oliver Burke equalized with his goal a little later (32nd). After a dismissal for the former Bremen Nick Woltemade in the 66th minute, VfB had to play out more than half an hour. In the 90th the Burke took advantage of the courage of the Bremen’s away win for his second goal.
“Maybe you have to defend it better, but it is difficult if you are less,” said the Stuttgart international Angelo Stiller about the goal at the last minute at DAZN. Stiller also struggled with the dismissal. “I don’t know if you have to give yellow-red, no idea what the referee was thinking.” Woltemade had been more harmless in a duel. “The Bremeners made it smart,” said VfB captain Atakan Karazor.
