Vice President Dhankhar wrote that giving priority to the advice and health care of doctors, I am resigning from the post of Vice President with immediate effect under Article 67 (A) of the Constitution. Dhankhar (74) held the post in August 2022. Dhankar, a lawyer by profession, was the Governor of West Bengal before being elected Vice President. Dhankhar also thanked the President, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and all the MPs besides members of the cabinet.

He wrote, ‘I express my heartfelt gratitude for the cooperation and excellent working relationships from His Excellency the President during my tenure. I also express gratitude to the Prime Minister and his entire cabinet. Cooperation and support from the Prime Minister was priceless. I learned a lot from him. I will always keep the warmth, trust and affection I got from all the members of Parliament and it will be in my memories.
