The new edition of “Pumuckl” is a complete success. And the goblin is also experiencing new adventures in the cinema. In October “Pumuckl and the big misunderstanding” comes to the screen before the series on RTL+ is continued.
All fans of “Pumuckl” can look forward to: The film rental Constantin Film has announced the start date for the new movie with the small Klabauter. “Pumuckl and the big misunderstanding” will therefore be shown in German cinemas from October 30, 2025. The filming for Pumuckl’s latest canvas adventure had started in Munich and the surrounding area last spring.
The new movie builds on the successful comeback of the red -haired goblin. At the end of 2023 the celebrated new edition was “New stories from Pumuckl” on RTL+ started. Even when it comes to linear charisma in the RTL program, the series proved to be a complete success in the target group with market shares of up to 18.5 percent. As early as February 2024, RTL confirmed that a second season with 13 new, 25-minute episodes would be produced.
The fact that the pumuckl would also experience a new cinema adventure was announced in June 2024. The Neuuper, RTL and Constantin Film production company work for the project.
“A lot going on …”
As in the new edition, Florian Eder, nephew of the late Master Eder, are at the center of the film, and of course Pumuckl himself, who is again spoken by Maximilian Schafroth. With the help of artificial intelligence, its setting is transformed into the unmistakable voice of the late actor Hans Clarin, who had always spoken the goblin in the original series.
At the end of 2025 there is again “new stories from Pumuckl” on RTL+. Even now the entire first season is available.
Proven forces are also relied on the camera: Marcus H. Rosenmüller, who has already staged the first season of the successful new edition, also directs the movie. The script comes from producer and author Korbinian Dufter and author Matthias Look. Other roles include Matthias Bundschuh, Gisela Schneeberger, Ilse Neubauer and Robert Palfrader.
So much has already been revealed about the action: “A turtle, an excursion to the country and then also neighbor Burke’s birthday: Pumuckl and Eder is a lot going on this summer! Too much maybe – because with so many events, the two can hardly talk to each other properly.” The title of “big misunderstanding” threatens to break the tranquil world of the two.
“Schabernack, warmth and humor”
Head author and producer Korbinian Dufter from Neudeuper emphasized at the start of the shooting in June 2024 that “Pumuckl” was a “matter close to the heart” for everyone involved. “We stick to the careful modernization. Now that Eder and Pumuckl got to know each other, we are telling big and small adventures full of prank, warmth and humor – with one or the other surprise,” he was quoted at the time.
Fans only have to be patient until October until they can experience Pumuckl’s new adventures on the big screen. The second season of the series is expected to be shown exclusively on RTL+ and later at RTL from the end of 2025.
