New special device for submarines
This allows China to cut almost all submarine cables

Chinese researchers have developed a device with which they can cut cables on the lake floor. It should be used in submarines.
In a Chinese journal, a device was presented that is able to cut very deep -lying submarine cables. An article in a Chinese -speaking journal for mechanical engineers describes the skills of the device. As several Chinese media, including the “South China Morning Post”, report, it should be able to operate in depths of up to 4,000 meters.
The device was developed by the State China Ship Scientific Research Center (CSSRC) at the state laboratory for manned deep -sea emissions. It should be able to cut cables with coatings such as steel, plastic and rubber. It was originally developed for civilian use – for example, to be able to recover defective cables better and to support the work in the extraction of raw materials in the sea floor. The device should be able to be used on manned and unmanned submarines.
But the device also runs a great danger to the world. Because a large part of the global data traffic runs via SENSESEKABLE. Conventional blades of cutting tools have a hard struggle with steel reinforced sub -cables. To solve this problem, HU and his team developed a diamond -coated grinding wheel with 150 millimeters in diameter, which rotates with 1,600 revolutions per minute.
It should have enough strength to cut the steel coat without rising the sea floor too much. As “Interesting Engineering” reports, it can also be used in a very poor visibility. According to the technology page, China has the world’s largest fleet of manned and unmanned underwater vehicles.
China repeatedly emphasizes in technical innovations that it is research for civilian use. Often, however, it is dual-use devices that can also be used militarily. The Center for Strategic and International Studies reports on the mixture of civil and military interests in shipbuilding.
