
Naxalites encounter in Chhattisgarh, three killed
In Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, a prize of Rs 25 lakh was killed in an encounter with security forces on Tuesday. Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai said that the encounter took place at around 8 am on Tuesday morning in the forest on the border of Dantewada and Bijapur districts, when a team of security personnel went out on an anti -Maoism campaign. He said that the campaign launched on the basis of the presence of Maoists in the forests of Girsapara, Neel, Bodga and Ikili villages of Gidam police station area included District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Bastar fighters personnel.
Maoist killed by 25 lakhs
The official said the bodies of three male Maoists were recovered from the spot after the firing was stopped. He said that an INSAS rifle, a 303 rifle, explosive material and daily use items have also been recovered from the scene. One of the three Maoists killed in a prima facie encounter has been identified as Sudhir alias Sudhakar alias Murali, a resident of Warangal, Telangana. He was an active member of Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee. It is the strongest organization of Maoists. The official said that he had a reward of Rs 25 lakh.
Two Maoists killed were not identified
He said that two other cadres have not been identified yet. He informed that the search operation is still going on in the area. Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently said that the Narendra Modi government is taking a ruthless stand against the Maoists and is adopting a policy of zero tolerance against the Maoists who have not surrendered despite providing facilities ranging from surrender to inclusion. He said that by 31 March 2026, the country will be free of Maoism.
30 Naxalites were killed on 20 March
On March 20, security forces killed 30 Maoists in two encounters in the state’s Bijapur and Kanker districts. With the latest action, 116 Maoists have been killed in different encounters in the state so far this year. Of these, 100 Maoists were killed in Bastar division with seven districts including Bijapur and Dantewada.
