Pop Lady Gaga Diva is facing a federal trademark violation process in California. Its new album “Mayhem” (“chaos” or confusion ”, which will generate a world tour, with a show already scheduled for Copacabana beach, has a logo also used in pieces such as clothes for sale on the singer’s website, which very much resembles a line of Lost International clothing, a recognized brand -linked brand.
The company is looking for at least $ 100 million in damages, as well as an injunction to prevent Gaga from using the name “Mayhem”, attorney’s fees and other unspecified measures.
The California company claims exclusive rights to the ‘Mayhem’ trademark for a variety of clothing items.

According to the complaint, which was first published on the TMZ gossip website, Lost International has been registered with the brand since 2015. The company argues that the use of the same name by Lady Gaga – particularly in association with goods linked to its album and tour – violates its trademark rights.
The process includes a side -by -side comparison of the Lost logo and Gaga’s Mayhem brand, alleging visual similarities and potential consumer confusion.
According to People magazine, it is highly unlikely that the record of a clothing brand prevents Lady Gaga from using that name for your album or tour, as there are already another products and services that use that name, which weakens the thesis of confusion among consumers.

The most valid part of the complaint, says the publication, is around the clothing items sold by Lady Gaga. Because, ultimately, the logo is similar and is being used in the same types of products (clothing).
Another point that can be used in the singer’s defense is that Lady Gaga’s clothing items will be sold on a commercial channel very different from that used by Lost clothes.
It is also highlighted that most of the trademarks of this nature are resolved outside the courts.
