According to the FIR lodged with the Meghalaya Police, BSF personnel saw the activities of 30 to 40 cattle with about 20 people in Bangladeshi part of the border. On the morning of 12 July, near the Khasimara River, when BSF jawans stopped these people. During this time, miscreants, who came with the help of another group of 40 to 50 persons from across the Bangladesh border, tried to enter the Indian region and started throwing stones at BSF jawans. Police said two BSF personnel were injured in the attack.

The Border Security Force said that in self-defense, BSF personnel fired several rounds to disperse the attackers. After this the crooks ran away. BSF personnel recovered the heads of 13 cattle. He informed that further investigation is going on.
26 illegal Bangladeshi caught in Meghalaya
Earlier, the Border Security Force (BSF) arrested 26 Bangladeshis near the international border in the Western Garo Hills district of Meghalaya for entering India without legitimate documents. Officials said on Tuesday that four people have also been arrested for helping Bangladeshi citizens in illegal entry.

Based on specific intelligence information, the 22nd Battalion personnel on Monday stopped three vehicles going from Purakhasia to Barangapara on State Highway-12 near Machokpara. During the investigation, it was found that Bangladeshi citizens were helping to infiltrate the Indian infiltrations. All persons were taken into custody for questioning.
