CM Sarma Says Conspiracy Behind Settlement of Landless People in Distant Areas of Hindus and Assamese Muslim – Amar Ujala Hindi News Live

Conspiracy to make Assamese people minority

Sarma said, ‘Our question is, why are these people going to places where Hindus or Assamese Muslims are more? This makes the local people feel insecure. Not only remove encroachments, but also a secret conspiracy related to it- as if we are trying to make us a minority.

The state government had vacated 4500 bighas of land

The Assam government recently conducted two major eviction campaigns to remove encroachments in Dhubri and Gwalpada districts. Under these campaigns, more than 4,500 bighas of land were vacated. Some land in it was also from reserved forest. The Chief Minister said that there is encroachment on about 8 lakh bighas of government land in the state, including forests and pastures. The Chief Minister said, “Whether it is a conspiracy or poverty, or political people behind it, it should be investigated.”

We do not like to run eviction campaign: CM Sarma

CM Sarman spoke to journalists on the sidelines of a program in Darang. During this, he said that we do not like to carry out eviction campaigns and take out people. But the Supreme Court and the High Court have given strict orders that there should be no encroachment on forest land, village pasture reserved (VGR), commercial pasture reserve (PGR) land.

People coming from far and wide are occupying other places

CM Sarma did that under the eviction campaign, it has been revealed that people from far-flung areas are occupying the land of other places. Giving examples, he said, ‘We launched a eviction campaign in Lakhimpur district and saw that most of the occupants came from districts like Karimganj and South Salamara in South Assam. If someone is really needy, then he should find land in his district itself.

It is important to understand the equation of people going to other places

CM Sarma said that it is important to understand that these people are going themselves or someone is sending them there deliberately, so that the equation of votes can be changed for political gains. Sarma said, ‘If the landless people of Darang district settled in Pakistan from Goraukhuti or Gwalpada, then it is understood. But if they are going far away- as the people of South Assam are settling in North Assam, then it has to be understood what is the motive behind it.
