Depending on the title, the improvements are completely different, but almost all in common is an improvement in the resolution and framerates and that is no wonder, after all, the Nintendo Switch 2 delivers a huge performance upgrade compared to the switch.

Free upgrade packs in the subscription

If you have an active Nintendo online membership with an extension pass, there will be some of the upgrade packs for download free of charge. It is not yet known which these are. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild & Tears of the Kingdom will be part of it.

Nintendo does one thing better than Playstation and Co. – but you also have to pay for it

With the Switch 2 editions, not only technical improvements are published, but also enclosures are included. Even if you have already gambled one of the games, you can still expect some surprises. There is also a function with HDR that really heses the image edition of the games!

It is also conceivable that a few more games will appear as Switch 2 editions. Nintendo and the partner manufacturers were limited to the current announcements to 2025, especially the first few months after the launch on June 5. However, at least one direct will follow-the year is still long and so there is still enough space for further Switch 2 editions.

In addition, it is still in the stars of how many third-party publishers follow and also upgrade their games with an upgrade. The Switch 2 Edition from Hogwarts Legacy would be such a candidate, for example.

For 470 euros the Switch 2 will then be available, alternatively also in the bundle for 510 euros. The release period is not cheap, but after all, the upgrade packs are not quite as expensive, so you can also pass the time with improved switch 1 classics.

But do you want to do it at all? Will you get one of the Switch 2 editions?
