Windows 11: Data protection settings

Large excitement on Windows is usually the topics of data protection and security. Microsoft is happy to collect so -called telemetry data to ensure the reliability of the system. The transferred data also allow extensive conclusions to be drawn about the usage behavior of the PC users. In order to check the current configuration and change it if necessary, proceed:

  1. Open the settings app, for example with the key combination Window button + I.
  2. Click on the left Data protection and security and then on Diagnosis and feedback.
  3. Switch the option Send optional diagnostic data from if it is activated.

You can remove already collected data under the menu item “Delete diagnostic data” by click Delete. Windows 11: Set standard browser

  1. Open the settings (Windows + I).
  2. Select the menu item Apps and click on Standard apps.

Windows 11: Create recovery point

After installing a new operating system, there are further work in addition to the settings, such as the installation of additional software and drivers. Problems and mistakes can always occur. Provision is therefore recommended – in Windows 11 with a system recovery point to which your PC can be reset in an emergency. To create such a backup, proceed as follows:

  1. Open the start menu.
  2. Tap Recovery point In the search and click on Create recovery point.
  3. In the new window, select the system drive, usually (C 🙂 and marked by “(system)”, and click on the button Configure…
  4. Click the option there Activate computer protection and choose the maximum possible storage space occupancy. Two to three percent are recommended at this point.
  5. Confirm by click OK.
  6. Click now Create…to create a recovery point.
  7. Enter a meaningful name for the recovery point and click on Create. That was it.
