Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned from his post on Monday evening citing health reasons. He sent his resignation to President Draupadi Murmu and said that he was leaving the post with immediate effect. In his letter to the President, Dhankhar said, “According to Article 67 (A) of the Constitution, I resign from the post of Vice President of India, according to Article 67 (A) of the Constitution. Dhankhar is the second Vice President to resign while holding the post of Dhankhar. Earlier, VV Giri resigned from his post to contest the presidential election on July 20, 1969 as an independent candidate.
