India’s smartphone market is growing rapidly. Soon India’s smartphone market may overtake China. India has become the second largest smartphone market in the world on the basis of increasing demand for smartphones and rapidly growing manufacturing units. The government has also made great preparations for this. In India, fast work is being done on creating a chip manufacturing unit. The chip market is currently dominated by the US and China.

Smartphone market will get boost

Meity i.e. Ministry of Electronics and Department of Telecommunication (DOT) has prepared a plan in which a large boost of India’s smartphone market is going to be available. The government has made a plan to complete this work under the Atmatir Bharat Yojana. The smartphone market can get more boosts to be made by India mobile chip.

In an ET program, Meity Secretary S Krishnan said that when we are talking about mobile operating system in India, its chipset will play an important role. For this, the central government’s self-sufficient India and India Semiconductor Mission as well as design-linked incentive schemes contribute significantly. This year, the government has also worked to focus on the semiconductor.

83% increase in budget

In this year’s budget, the government has increased 83 percent for this mission. The government has kept a budget of Rs 7,000 crore for the semiconductor mission in India. At the same time, the budget of production linked initiative scheme has become 55 percent i.e. Rs 9,000 crore. On the other hand, China’s semiconductor budget is about 47 billion dollars i.e. 4 lakh crore rupees. The semiconductor will also contribute significantly for AI development in India. AI apps will be boosted with the help of semiconductor. AI will be used extensively in future.
