Mohammad Ali Sheikh, one of the 12 people acquitted by the Bombay High Court in the Mumbai train bomb blast case, said on Tuesday that what I lost in the last 19 years was precious. He called the lower court’s decision ‘unilateral and blinded with eyes’ and said that the truth could never be harmed. Sheikh, who was lodged in Nagpur Central Jail, returned to Mumbai on Tuesday evening.
On July 11, 2006, seven local trains occurred in Mumbai, killing more than 180 people. 19 years after the incident, the High Court acquitted all the 12 accused on Monday. He said that the prosecution failed to prove the case and ‘It is difficult to believe that the accused has committed the crime’.
Father and brother lost in 19 years
After returning home, Sheikh interviewed a Marathi news channel. During this, he said that he returned home for the first time after about 19 years. In these 19 years I have lost my father and brother. I could not join his funeral and Namaz. This is very sad. In these years, the elder daughter was also married, but I could not come in that either.

Sheikh said that he did not demand parole even at the time of daughter’s marriage. Sheikh said, what I lost while in jail was precious.
Trust in Supreme Court, justice will also be available from there
Sheikh said that he is not yet demanding any compensation. He will think about this after fighting the case in the Supreme Court. The state government has already challenged the High Court’s decision in the Supreme Court. Asked about this, Sheikh said that he trusts the Supreme Court and he is sure he would get justice there too, as he was all innocent and did not involve the bomb blasts. Expressing happiness over the High Court’s decision, he said that the Sessions Court has given a unilateral verdict.
Sheikh’s father died in this sorrow 14 years ago
His mother Husna Bano Bashir Khan expressed happiness when Sheikh returned home. He said that we were very happy that Sheikh was released by Bizzat. He got justice, but was too late. My son was innocent. He said that the last 19 years passed in a lot of pain. Sheikh’s father died 14 years ago in this gum.

False allegations implicated: Sheikh’s wife
Sheikh’s wife Nishat Asif Khan says, ‘I am very happy. Justice was found, but late. More than half of our lives went away. Who will compensate this? We had to face many difficulties. When he took her, the younger daughter was just two years old, the second daughter was four years old and the elder son was eight years old. No one can fill the lack of a father. When the blast took place, our son called him and he said, I am coming home right now. At that time, we all lived together in Mumbai. He was forcefully implicated in false charges.
