Hope to stay above 70 percent voting percentage
The State Election Commission is also expecting more than 70 percent of the polling in the panchayat elections this time. The three -tier panchayat elections held in October 2019 recorded 69.59 percent polling. Talking about the last election, the highest polling in 12 districts was held in Udhamsingh Nagar and the lowest turnout in Almora district. Chief Minister’s appeal on panchayat elections
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that panchayats are the foundation stone of rural development. The participation of each voter in these elections is very important. The strength of democracy depends on the awareness and participation of the voter. Development schemes are operated in rural areas through the three -tier panchayat system. There is an appeal to voters, especially youth, women and senior citizens to empower democracy by reaching maximum number of polling stations. Each voter’s one vote can play a decisive role in creating the future of the state.

Uttarakhand Panchayat Election Live: Voting for the first phase today, more than 26 lakh voters will do voting
The first phase of the three -tier panchayat elections to be held in 12 districts of Uttarakhand will be held today. More than 26 lakh voters will decide the fate of 17,829 candidates.
