Actually, they only wanted to take a day trip on the Philippines with friends. The goal was an area near a volcano. Now they have disappeared.

In the Philippines, three Germans are missing after a hike. On Wednesday, the men had broken up with three other foreigners – a British, a Canadian and a Russian – to a hiking tour near Valencia in the centrally located province of Negros Oriental, as the local government announced. Since then the group has disappeared.

The city administration of Valencia asked the public in a Facebook post to help you find the missing person. The Germans are said to be 67, 60 and 58 years old.

According to the information, the men in the famous Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park were traveling to two lakes. Since they had only planned a day hike, they left without much provisions, it said. Several teams are now looking for the group – however, the campaign had to be interrupted at night due to heavy rain.

Footprints were found on Thursday, which probably came from the missing people, the Valencia police said. The motorcycles with which they drove to the start of the trails are still there. Volunteers flew drones and searched for traces from the air. Since it is a huge area around Berg Talini, the second highest volcano on the island of Negros, the search is difficult.

The Southeast Asian island state of Philippines is not only known for its dream beaches, but also attracts nature lovers, hikers and mountaineers. There are numerous volcanoes in the country on the Pacific fire ring.
