Supreme Court Strint the Matter of Mandatory QR Code in Shops on Kanwar Yatra Route, Sought Reply from Up – Amar Ujala Hindi News Live

A bench of Justice MM Sundresh and Justice N. Kotishwar Singh, while hearing a petition filed by academics Apoorvanand Jha and others, has summoned the reply from the UP government. The Supreme Court had also banned the instructions to display the names and other details of their owners, employees and other details on the Kanwar Yatra routes released by Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh last year.

Citing the instructions issued by the UP government on 25 June during the hearing in the Supreme Court, educationist Apoorvanand Jha said that under the new instruction, it is mandatory to display QR code on all the restaurants on the Kandar Marg. This reveals the names and identity of the shop owners. The same discrimination is being done again, which was stopped by this court earlier.

The petition stated that the state government’s instructions, in which the stall owners have been asked to disclose religious and caste identity under legal license requirements, violate the right to privacy of shops, dhabas and restaurants owners.
