Skybound Entertainment is excited to announce a new project: a video game based on the popular animated series, Invincible. They’re still in the early stages of development, so there’s not much information available yet. But they’re asking fans to help make it happen by contributing to a crowdfunding campaign.

The animated series, Invincible, has been a big hit and has already inspired a few video games. One of them is a visual novel RPG featuring the character Atom Eve. There are also some custom maps in the game Fortnite that were inspired by the series, including the newly released Rise of the Sequids.

Skybound has big plans for this new game. They’ve said it will be their first top-tier, or “AAA”, Invincible game. They promise it will be packed with action, have amazing game and character designs, and, true to the series, include a fair amount of blood.

Even though they haven’t shared many details about the game yet, Skybound is asking for contributions from fans. They’re accepting investments as low as $100. This money will help pay for the game’s development. Plus, it gives fans a chance to own a piece of the Invincible brand. But it’s important to note that this isn’t like buying shares in a company. It’s more like contributing to a Kickstarter campaign, which means you won’t earn any dividends.

Skybound makes it clear that this kind of investment comes with a high level of risk. It’s only suitable for people who can afford to lose their entire investment and who can handle the financial risk for an indefinite period of time. Once you invest, your money becomes illiquid. That means you can’t convert it back into cash or sell it to someone else if you change your mind.

Despite these risks, the crowdfunding campaign has already been a success. At the time of writing, they’ve raised $446,200. That’s well above the minimum goal of $50,000, and there are still 14 days left until the campaign ends on April 29. As a thank you, investors will get special perks through a loyalty program. But unlike a Kickstarter campaign, the website doesn’t specify what these perks are.

Skybound CEO David Alpert expressed his excitement about the crowdfunding campaign in a press release. He said, “At Skybound, we prioritize fostering meaningful connections with our audience. This initiative allows fans to not only immerse themselves in the world of Invincible but also to directly contribute to its expansion.”

The idea of a big-budget Invincible game is certainly exciting. Some fans have probably been dreaming of an open-world adventure where they play as the titular hero, battling villains in bloody combat, ever since the original comics came out. But until Skybound has more concrete details to share, it’s hard to get too excited. After all, cameos in Fortnite and Mortal Kombat 1 can only do so much.
