Taking cognizance of the complaint filed in this defamation case, the special court has summoned Rahul Gandhi as an accused. The Congress leader had filed a petition against the summons in the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court but he did not get any relief from there.

Explain that this defamation complaint was filed by Uday Shankar Srivastava, former director of Border Rhodes Organization (BRO). The case is currently pending in a Lucknow court. The complaint claimed that Rahul Gandhi had made derogatory remarks against the Indian Army on 16 December 2022 during his India Jito Yatra. The comment was related to the clash between the forces of India and China on 9 December 2022. According to the complaint, Rahul repeatedly said that the Chinese army is beating our soldiers in Arunachal Pradesh and the Indian press will not ask any questions in this regard.
