The gaming world is abuzz with the success of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. This highly anticipated second installment in the remake trilogy of one of the franchise’s most beloved titles has indeed lived up to the hype, winning over both critics and gamers alike. Yet, there’s always room for improvement, and the game’s director, Naoki Hamaguchi, is well aware of this.

One area that’s been highlighted for enhancement is the game’s performance mode. While it allows for a smooth gameplay experience at a stable 60 FPS, it does so at the expense of some graphic details. But fear not, gamers, because Hamaguchi and his team are on it! They’re currently developing a patch that will give the performance mode of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth a significant graphical boost.

Hamaguchi shared in an interview with OneMoreGame, “We’ve received a lot of feedback on whether the graphics in the performance mode will be improved or not. We hear you, and we are currently working on an update patch to improve that aspect. I don’t think the release date would be far away from now.” He further added, “We have heard from players that in certain situations, the facial lighting makes some character shadows look very scary. So that’s one part of the update that we are working on.”

While Hamaguchi remained tight-lipped about the exact details of the upcoming patch and its release date, he assured fans that they wouldn’t have to wait too long for it.

So, what does this mean for you, the player? Well, when playing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you have the choice between performance mode and graphics mode. The former prioritizes framerate, offering a silky smooth 60 FPS, but with some compromise on the graphical quality. On the other hand, the graphics mode runs at 30 FPS, focusing on enhancing various settings such as texture and shadow quality, offering a visually richer experience.

The choice between performance and graphics mode in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will largely depend on your personal preference as a player. If you’re all about the best frame rates, the performance mode will likely be your go-to. But if you’re someone who wants to soak in every single detail and enjoy the most visually stunning version of Garia, then the graphics mode is definitely for you.
