For this, visitors to Olivia Jones’ “Fummelfundus” need a strong stomach. In the exhibition, the drag queen shows, among other things, its own leg disks – placed in the cucumber glass.
In 2017, Olivia Jones underwent surgery on the legs – for medical reasons, as she emphasizes in an interview with RTL. In the procedure, their legs of different lengths were adjusted, as Germany’s most famous drag queen emphasizes: “I always had the wrong attitude, constantly back problems.” Jones, who saw the light of day in 1969 when Oliver Knöbel, was taken from both thighs in a four -hour operation. She shrank from 2.01 meters before – without high heels – to 1.95 meters. In addition to the back pain, her height has always been difficult – especially in contact with fans. “At selfies I had a posture like a giraffe on the drinking hole,” explains Jones on her Facebook page at the time
Olivia Jones lifted the distant bone parts as a memory – in a cucumber glass. “The surgeon had nothing else,” she says in an interview with RTL. Instead of cucumber juice, alcohol is now in the glass. And Jones is now exhibiting that container in her newly designed exhibition “Fummelfundus” on the Reeperbahn.
“Every artist can make themselves naked, but nobody can present their bones,” explains the Dragqueen, which according to his own information “explains the most macabre and interesting piece” of the exhibition in which Jones shows costumes and exhibits from their foundation collected for years. Including the outfit, which you get out of here in 2013 at “I’m star – get me out of here!” (all seasons On RTL+ in the stream) in the RTL jungle camp.
Guests became bad
However, Jones provided visitors with weak nerves and the same stomachs. “I have a red curtain, because there were guests who were too macabre and who got really bad,” she says in an interview with the Cologne broadcaster.
At first she had her leg disks at home next to the television. But because guests of their bar had repeatedly asked about the bones, she thought about exhibiting the pickled leg slices in EM locally on the Reeperbahn. However, the risk was too great for her. “But everyone is drunk and celebrated. Then they disappeared at some point or someone has made such a vegetable soup out of it. That’s why they are secured here.” The cucumber glass with the bones in it is now illuminated in a kind of shrine – safe behind glass. So that nothing ends up in the soup.
