Despite Sukhracharya’s declaration that the donation period is over, Vaman insists that it is not, as his hands are still empty. Mahabali, curious, asks Vaman what he wants. Vaman then requests Mahabali to make a promise by holding water in his hand, ensuring that he will not back out of his decision. Mahabali agrees, asking if Vaman is doubting him. Vaman clarifies that he is doubting his own destiny, as he feels unlucky in getting anything.
Despite Sukhracharya’s warnings that this might be a plan by Narayan, and that Vaman could be Narayan in disguise, Mahabali dismisses his concerns. Sukhracharya, aware of Narayan’s cunning nature, tries to convince Mahabali, but the latter remains undeterred. Mahabali declares that he does not care if Vaman is Narayan, as the world will know that he gave the donation to Narayan. This act of defiance against Sukhracharya’s advice highlights Mahabali’s determination to follow through with his promise.
Vaman then reveals his wish—he only wants three feet of land. Kamali, observing this, thinks that Vaman, being short, has also made a short request. Sukhracharya reluctantly agrees and pretends to leave. Vaman, however, begins to grow in size, taking the Earth in his first step and the heavens in his next. He then asks Mahabali where he should place his third step, leaving Mahabali in a dilemma as the episode concludes.
