A ceasefire between Israel and the terrorist organization had expired at the beginning of the month. Now negotiates again.

The radical Islamic terrorist group Hamas has accordingly approved a new proposal by the intermediaries Qatar and Egypt for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Hamas received the proposal two days ago and now approved, Hamas negotiator Chalil Al-Haija said on Saturday in a television speech. “We hope that the crew (Editor’s note: Israel) will not hinder him. “The weapons of the Palestinian organization are” a red line, “emphasized Al-Haija.

The terrorist group should be ready to leave five hostages free as part of a new 50 -day ceasefire. The Israeli government confirmed the new proposal of the intermediaries. “A few hours ago, Israel gave the intermediaries a counter -proposal in full coordination with the United States,” said the office of the Israeli head of government Benjamin Netanyahu. According to the news page “Ynet”, Israel demands the release of ten deported.

According to Hamas, the fire break should begin Ramadan on the festival days after the end of the Muslim fasting month. The days to celebrate the Eid al-Fitr begin in the Palestinian areas and many other countries on Sunday.

An agreement can probably only be achieved after the Israeli counter-proposal after Eid al-Fitr, as the Israeli news portal “Walla” reported, citing an Israeli official. According to this, corpses of deported people could also be handed over to Israel as part of a new deal.

Israeli media suspected that Hamas also wanted to achieve a possible ceasefire in order to contain the demonstrations that have recently broken out in the Gaza Strip. This is currently not possible due to the attacks of Israel in the Gaza Strip.

Since January 19, a ceasefire has been in the Gaza Strip, the first phase of the agreement concluded with the help of international intermediaries expired on March 1st. An agreement on the second phase has not yet been reached.

In the meantime, Israel resumed its massive air raids on Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip. In addition, the army started a new ground use in the Palestinian area.

With the new offensive, Israel wants to increase the pressure on Hamas in order to clear the 58 hostages that are still held in the Gaza Strip. According to the army, 34 of them are already dead.

In the Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip, which the army had started in response to the major Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, more than 50,200 people have so far been killed.
