Heavy rains and floods from north-west India to Central, East and Northeast India have come to a halt. From Uttarakhand to Uttar Pradesh and Odisha to Assam, at least 19 rivers are in spate and due to this flood situation has become very serious in many places. Heavy rains have lost three people in Nagaland and two in Odisha. The expectation of 30 people missing alive since the cloudburst last week in Himachal Pradesh is gradually getting tarnished. The closed Badrinath National Highway has been restored since the cloudburst, but the risk of landslides has increased due to torrential rains in Tehri, Uttarkashi and Chamoli. At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy rains in Northeast and Eastern India in the next few days, which may worsen the flood situation.
