At night, a substation burns near the large airport. Passengers have to reschedule.
Heathrow London’s large airport was closed at night due to a power failure. For security reasons, the closure will continue until 11:59 p.m. (local time), the airport announced on platform X. Passengers were instructed not to travel to the airport and contact their airline. The reason for the power failure is a fire in a substation that supplies the airport, it said.
The London fire brigade moved out with ten fire trucks and around 70 firefighters to the burning substation in Hayes, as announced at X. According to media reports, thousands of households in the region had no electricity.
