A few hours after the CDU, CSU and SPD presented their coalition program, “Maischberger” got down to business. Cabaret artist Dieter Nuhr does not trust any party.
Nobody seemed really enthusiastic on this evening of the coalition agreement between the CDU and the SPD-a contrast to the emphasized harmonious beginnings of the outgoing traffic light coalition and its symbolic, now historical selfie from 2021. Only Jens Spahn, who is traded as a minister for the upcoming government (but did not want to comment on himself), called the result of the negotiations a “total work of art”.
The Katharina Dröge saw it very differently than Spahn. “Pretty tough and gray” she called the result. In terms of standstill, she had a standstill, it was worse: “You dismantle climate protection in Germany. They tell the young people: ‘We don’t care about your future’. That is what you have now agreed with.
Jens Spahn did not want to accept this criticism and stated: “You have now tried a good three years. We have not even started. So let’s start before you tear everything off again.”
When Dröge put on criticism again, Jens Spahn interrupted. Then she still turned: “I just let you finish” – soon afterwards she moved demonstratively to her. She explained mockingly, Spahn prices now suggestions from Robert Habeck that he had previously criticized and fought: “Now Jens Spahn rules and has to find out: Robert Habeck’s suggestions were better than he believed. Therefore, nice that the CDU chose Robert Habeck’s policy at this point and not for the policy of Jens Spahn.”
The tone became sharp when Maischberger specifically entered into the asylum plans of the upcoming government. Dröge criticized the agreements between the CDU, CSU and SPD: The measures taken are “a mixture of senseless hardness”. You focus on the stop of safe access for refugees, such as the recording program for Afghans. This is a “completely unnecessary, inhumane hardness at the point,” said the Greens faction leader. She also sharply criticized planned hurdles in the naturalization of specialists: “At a time when Germany has a high shortage of skilled workers.”
Here Spahn became clear in his answer: “We have recorded a big city of illegal migration a year in the past ten years.” Germany is not a country of immigration, but “a single country”. And: “Illegal migration is illegal – and what is illegal is I want to end.”
Dröge warned urgently: “I find it dangerous to what Jens Spahn does,” replied Dröge and finally switched to the formal. The CDU assumed that she is getting closer to the AfD in migration policy. “If the CDU does not manage to formulate a stop line for the AfD, it will finally go the way the conservatives have gone in Great Britain – that ends in Brexit,” said Dröge.
