After nine seasons, “Marie catches fire” is over. The Murnau fire brigade has often been involved in filming in recent years.

Murnau -After nine seasons, the end is: the ZDF series “Marie catches fire” does not continue. Despite the romantic conclusion to the series finale – Marie and colleague Peter finally find each other – the odds recently failed too low. The broadcaster’s decision makes fans and participated equally hard. Firefighters from Murnau also participated. There and in the area were repeatedly taken.

“Positive external impact”

“It is really a shame that the series is not turned further – especially since it was great fun to actively participate in production,” says Michael Hosp from the Murnau fire brigade. “For the Murnau market and our fire brigade, the series was also a great way to achieve a positive external impact.” The actors and fire brigade have grown together more and more about the twelve double episodes. “This close cooperation enabled the production team to get to know the basics and processes of the fire brigade up close. For us as a fire brigade, it was an impressive experience to see how much is behind a film production.”

Commandant Florian Krammer is also a bit melancholy. Real friendships have emerged between actors and the fire brigade over the years. The fire brigade was not only a backdrop, but also actively involved: on up to 18 shooting days there were emergency services ready – even if there were real alarms from time to time. “The producers always had great understanding when we only came back hours later,” says Krammer. This close cooperation gave the production team authentic insights into the fire brigade.

Productor Eva Franz shows up Day leaf-If demand “Incredibly sad that the series is coming to an end. The time in Murnau with the fire brigade was not only professionally but also personally very special -friendships were created. I hope that the contact will continue. Our film production was received with open arms -I would like to thank everyone involved.” For them personally it was a formative experience to see what is behind the fire service. “I was able to gain a lot of valuable insights. The encounters with the Murnau fire brigade inspired me so much that I have my own podcast with the title ‘Marie burns’ published since last year. “
