What is dress allowance?
According to a circular issued by the Finance Ministry on August 2017, uniform allowance includes textile allowance, initial equipment allowance, kit maintenance allowance, Rob allowance, shoe allowance, etc. The proportional payment of the dress allowance will be given using this formula: the number of the amount / 12 x months (from the month of joining the government service to the next year). For example, suppose an employee is involved in service in August of a year, and he gets a dress allowance of Rs 20,000 per year. According to this formula, they will get their dress allowance on a proportional basis, which will be Rs 18,333, ie Rs 18,333.
How much uniform allowance is given?
Under the Seventh Pay Commission, the government had set different amounts for employees of different categories of the Central Government. Officials of the Army, Indian Air Force, Navy, Central Armed Police Force and Coast Guard are eligible for dress allowance of Rs 20,000 per year. The circular further states that “Military Nursing Services (MNS) officers, police officers and Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Dadra and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Police Service, Customs, Central Excise and Narcotics Department Executive Employees (ICLS) Officer, Indian Corporation Officer, NIA in NIA In Delhi, Amritsar, Kolkata, all checkpoints of the Immigration Bureau are entitled to the annual uniform allowance of Rs 10,000. Police forces of Defense Services/CAPF/Railway Protection Force/Union Territories and all personnel below the rank of Indian Coast Guard and Indian Railway’s Station Master are also given 10,000 rupees per year. It is necessary to wear, such as Trackman, Indian Railways running staff, staff car driver and canteen staff of non-demonstration departmental canteen, are entitled to get a dress allowance of Rs 5,000 per year.
