The central government has said that the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj was within 2025 and then within safe standards to bathe the water quality of the Ganges river. The Ministry of Water Power said in the Lok Sabha that the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) monitored the water quality at eight major ghats of Ganga, such as Shringverpur, Sangam and Diha Ghat. It found all standard safe levels like pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and Facical Colony (FC).
