Fierce fire in Delhi Police, more than 100 vehicles were burnt

New Delhi: More than 100 vehicles seized by the traffic police were burnt by a fire on Thursday afternoon at the police Malakhana, Nehru Place, Delhi. Police sources said that an FIR has been lodged in connection with the incident, so that it can be ascertained whether there is a conspiracy behind it. He said that a call was received at 2.2 pm in the afternoon. Initially, Delhi Fire Service i.e. DFS had said that about 50 trains including two -wheeler, three -wheeler and four -wheelers kept in the open area in the Malakhana have caught fire.

‘It took more than three hours to overcome the flames’

Police sources said that the process of completely extinguishing the fire is going on, but it is estimated that more than 100 vehicles were gutted. He said, ‘Initially the police had sent 6 fire engines on the spot. It has been reported that some such vehicles were also burnt in the fire, which were seized in criminal cases. At the same time, the DFS official said, ‘It took more than three hours to control the flames. The incident is being investigated.’ Sources said that this Malkhana belongs to the Delhi Traffic Police and the traffic headquarters officials immediately reached the spot to check the number of affected vehicles.

‘No compensation will be given in the case of burnt vehicles’

Sources in the Delhi Traffic Police said that the report shows that a large number of two -wheelers and four -wheelers seized by the traffic police (including crashed vehicles) were kept in this goods. As soon as the fire broke out, the smoke sprinkled in the entire area, which was visible from a distance. The fire was so severe that it quickly engulfed many vehicles. A senior police officer said that no compensation will be given in the case of burnt vehicles and only the insurance amount (if any) can be claimed. He said that the cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained.
