Forty days in the Compiegnois. The hunting shooting kept 2 started Wednesday April 9 in the industrial zone of Compiègne. They will stay there for a few days. This sequel, again co -elderly by Frédéric Forestier and Antonin Fourlon, takes up the same actors as the first: Camille Lou, Hakim Jemili, Didier Bourdon, Thierry Lhermitte… The film released in 2023 had accumulated 1.8 million spectators.
Having had to cohabit with a band of invasive hunters led by Didier Bourdon in their recently acquired country house, the couple of Parisians played by Camille Lou and Hakim Jemili must support a hunting crew. This crew of hinders is led by Captain Maxime Gasteuil, who plays the son of Didier Bourdon. It is the more bourgeois version of the hunter.
Just as we don’t change a winning team, we keep the advantage of the field. The first “kept hunting” had been largely filmed in the Compiegnois. In the Compiègne forest for the hunting scenes, but also in Old Moulin for the hunting banquet, in the town hall of Saint-Crépin-aux-Bois for a conciliation between hunters and inhabitants, or in Vic-sur-Aisne for a market scene.
In the hangar, the magic of cinema operates
From the outside, apart from a long line of parking cars, and a few trucks, difficult to guess that we are running the hunting suite, in this hangar reserved for rental. And yet, once the door is crossed, the magic of cinema operates.
The decoration teams reconstitute a real estate agency. That of Chantal Ladesou in the first film, which promised the idyllic happiness of the countryside to the Parisian couple. But it is in the next room that the essentials happen. It is the reconstruction of a palombière, a forest mirador to see the migratory birds arrive over the trees to shoot them with gunshots.
We are like twenty meters high. From the outside, the pattern resembles this wooden saucer built by an illuminated who was convinced that he was going to fly away with the moon. It was a famous report on the Strip-Tease program. But the decor built since February by the fighter decorators kept 2 is much larger. Around, on the walls, large posters showing the treetop tops. In the palombière, the illusion is perfect. We believe ourselves in the middle of the forest, twenty meters from the ground.
A dozen actors and 70 technicians
Inside, there is notably Didier Bourdon and Camille Lou. She passes a head. As with this impressive decor, production refuses the photos taken by people outside the shooting. History of keeping the magic of cinema secret. And also to control the image of the actors, so that they remain to their advantage. Even if we do not see how we can make Camille Lou less pretty than she is.
On the screens, the actors run small scenes inside the Palombière. Around them, 70 to 80 technicians track down unexpected detail, the slightest defect.
After Allocinéspecialized site, the film will be released on December 10. What surprises, seen from Compiègne, since we just started filming. Anyway, the actors and technicians have all taken up residence in Compiegnois rentals, for a month and a half.
Hunter extras
In the neighboring room, a huge green background lines the wall. A pylon with colors of khaki concealment, a small wooden scale … “This is where the actors pretend to go up, to arrive at La Palombière”, comments Véronique, responsible for filming, always amazed despite the habit.
Upstairs, extras (shooting) extras are waiting for their turn. They have already turned into the first kept hunt. “I queue at the time with Thierry Lhermitte and Didier Bourdon in the banquet scene,” said one, taking advantage of a coffee. “For the moment, we let amateur actors do, and afterwards, professionals, we enter the track,” jokes another. “It is a real pleasure to be here,” says Dorothée, having the impression of being part of the family.
