US President Donald Trump
US President Donald Trump, in a statement, described Canada as ‘one of the dominant countries’. Trump said on Tuesday that it is difficult to deal with Canada, as trade tension between two countries historically friendly is continuously increasing. In fact, the trade war began with the US imposing tariffs on Canada, in response to which Canada also imposed a counter -tariff. Even the people of Canada boycotted American products.
Talking to a news channel, when asked why he was more strict than other big countries with Canada, Donald Trump said, “I deal with every country directly or indirectly. Canada is one of the most proud countries.”
Canada described as 51st state
He further said, “Canada was made the 51st state because we give a subsidy of $ 200 billion to Canada annually.” He exaggerated US trade deficit estimates with Canada, which was described by the US Trade Representative Office as $ 63.3 billion for 2024.
“We don’t want anything from Canada”
Trump has repeatedly addressed Canada as the 51st state and even called former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as “Governor Trudeau”. Talking on the dependence on imports from Canada in the US, Trump said, “We do not want their wood, we do not want their energy (energy), we do not want anything. We do not need their vehicles at all.”
Mark Carney’s answer as soon as PM is made
Recently, former Governor of Bank of England and famous economist Mark Carney replaced Justin Trudeau and promised to stand in front of Trump. He said that the United States would sit and talk about our widespread partnership, only when Trump would stop making “derogatory” comments about Canada’s sovereignty.
