Berlin’s former health senator Dilek Kalayci (SPD) has been sentenced to a probation penalty of one and a half years due to bruising. In the process of costs of the politician’s wedding celebration, the Berlin district court also owed the co -accused head of an advertising agency for bribery. He was sentenced to a punishment of one year and three months.
In addition, the court ordered the collection of 6,242 euros in Kalayci and 9,450 euros for the co -accused. The judgment is not yet final. The defendants had asserted their innocence until the end.
The responsible business criminal chamber saw it as proven that the ex-senator was not charged the costs for organization and celebration because the company boss had promised advantages. Specifically, it was about the order of the health administration for an advertising campaign to obtain offspring for nursing. The presiding judge Bo Meyer said in the reasoning that the allegation of purchasing was confirmed from the chamber’s point of view.
According to the public prosecutor, the celebration was related to benefits of 11,200 euros. Last week, she called for a prison sentence exposed to probation and a fine of 36,000 euros.
The defense demanded acquittal. Kalayci did not knowingly accept advantages and made no bribery, lawyer Robert Unger said in his plea on Friday.
Kalayci himself had already rejected the allegations at the start of the trial. She assumed that the agency had made an invoice for her services and that it had been charged by her husband.
