This union bears the name ofAlliance for the future of Compiègne. The day after Daniel Leca’s vote in favor of Philippe Marini’s 2025 budget, the two elected officials, opposed in 2020, formalized their tandem and their future common list.
They each took a step towards the other. In the event of victory, Philippe Marini will leave the mayor’s chair to Daniel Leca during the mandate. For his part, Daniel Leca will not lead a list.
“No reason to divide our right and center currents” considers Philippe Marini
“It is indeed an important episode of our municipal life,” admits Philippe Marini. A way of gathering which remains the most effective for the interests of the city. ” Philippe Marini salutes, about the vote of the budget, “a very large membership of Daniel Leca and not a voting of circumstance”.
“It is a prepared choice, a choice of confidence, that of the Alliance, enumerates the mayor. There is no reason to divide our right and center currents. A division that would only be based on choices of people does not make sense. I prefer by far that people who recognize themselves in common values are getting closer. There is in truth no reason to maintain opposition on the substance. ”
“In the course of the mandate, I do not know when, I will ask myself the question of the next generation of my function of mayor”
“If I am re -elected, I will exercise my responsibilities of elected to the end until the end of this new mandate,” recalls the mayor. As he said when he wishes the start of the year.
But beware, he talks about his chosen one of the council, but not the mayor’s chair, from which he will resign during this future mandate. “We cannot freeze time and go back,” he notes. I will be 76 years old in this next election. It is my duty to prepare for the future. Daniel Leca and his running mate “intended to enter the majority,” says Marini
“I always preferred the union to the division,” repeats Philippe Marini. In this context, I looked and observed, in particular my competitor of 2020, Daniel Leca. He put his suitcases in Compiègne and made his evolution grow in the sense of realism. If Daniel and his running mate voted the budget presented by the municipal majority, it is on the basis of a thoughtful approach. They are therefore intended to enter this majority. Through his experience, his political knowledge at the national level and especially his regional responsibilities which he exercises through one of the most important vice-presidents, he defends the different compiégnois files. He has fully engaged in this task in which he obtained results. ”
“It is true that we are not from the same family within the right and the center. But after all, I tell myself that Jean Legendre himself (the former mayor chosen Philippe Marini to succeed him) made the choice of someone who, either, was not from his political family. My conviction is that Daniel Leca can embody this gathering value. ”
“The fruit of a long ripening,” says Daniel Leca
This is only the premises that must lead the team during the constitution towards the final list in March 2026. For Daniel Leca, “it is the fruit of a long ripening and a gathering process that I initiated in 2020, always in a positive and constructive spirit”.
Philippe Marini’s future partner intends to “push projects, on the compieégnois and personal level. The voting of the municipal budget by our team is not a rallying vote, it is a outstretched hand, the mark of this alliance which will lay the foundations of a new collaboration between us! ”
A list known at the end of the year
“We have to take time for the common list,” says Philippe Marini. Because there are those that we already know and those that we do not yet know. Respect and confidence is around these principles that this list will be built. In this last part of the year, we will put it all in the kitchen and we will endeavor that something that has the taste of flavor, which actually brings real pleasure. ”

A campaign pair
This alliance is based on “fundamental principles”:
- a joint political leadership through a campaign pair,
- a common campaign committee to ensure an effective and coherent organization,

- A transparency commitment on the mandate objectives and on the transitional process.
“We are in the right tempo,” analyzes Mayor Philippe Marini. Our fellow citizens should not wonder, within a year of the municipal elections in front of someone installed for some time. Today’s political life is very different, as is the expectations of these same fellow citizens. ”
The first assistant Sophie Schwarz
There remains the future of Sophie Schwartz, current first assistant of Compiègne, who had not hidden her desire to one day access the mayor’s chair. “I remain faithful to my first assistant for whom I will not accept degradation,” says Philippe Marini. It is therefore intended to be part of the future new mandate. There are a thousand ways to make yourself useful for the city, for example by a delegation. I also remain attentive to the complementarity of everyone’s profiles. ”
“New talents will emerge during this campaign,” tempers Daniel Leca, on the composition of this list.
Etienne Diot alone opponent of the municipal council
Etienne Diot, member of the original team of Daniel Leca, is now considered to be “the only real opponent” by Philippe Marini. “This former running mate from my own team, who has become a package by Daniel Leca, follows a personal approach by his unconditional opposition. He was actually put on the sidelines! ”
It will be difficult for Etienne Diot to find the way to the town hall, unless you build an independent list and run for its head.
“The left no longer has a storefront”
On the side of the left opposition, the sentence falls. “The left today has no more storefront in Compiègne” according to the mayor. Only Solange Dumay, “a sincere and recognized socialist left woman”, a package by Daniel Leca, finds thanks to her eyes.
“Solange Dumay was associated with our reflection and I might not have made the same alliance decision if I had not had the feeling that she trusted me and that she could make her voice heard,” reveals Daniel Leca.
Martine Miquel in “fresh water”
Martine Miquel, municipal councilor of Compiègne and regional councilor, confides as an aside that she has worked for two years for this rapprochement. “I am in the regional majority and I work in perfect complementarity with Daniel for the city and for the agglomeration of Compiègne. At the town hall, I am a member of the majority, with Daniel in a gentle opposition. From today, I will finally sail in fresh water. ”
