Children are also among the victims: a heavy rocket stroke shakes the Ukrainian city of Krywyj Rih. President Selenskyj calls on the global community to increase the pressure on the Kremlin.

After a severe rocket attack on the Ukrainian city of Krywyj Rih with many dead and injured, Kiev accused the Russian military against civilians. In the past 24 hours alone, the Russian military has launched attacks on the cities of Krywyj Rih and Charkiw and a power plant in Cherson – despite an agreement to protect energy systems, said President Wolodymyr Selenskyj in his evening video approach. “All Russian promises end with rockets and drones, bombs or artillery,” he added.

In the south -east Tostukrainian industrial city of Krywyj Rih on Friday, 18 people were killed by a Russian rocket strike according to the authorities. The rocket was hit in a children’s playground in the residential area. Among the victims are nine children, wrote area governor Serhij Lyssak on Telegram. According to him, more than 60 people were violated. A second attack just a few hours later resulted in another death.

Selenskyj: Russia does not want a fire break

Selenskyj had already complained in a first reaction at Telegram, Selenskyj had already complained to Telegram. “There is only one reason why this continues: Russia doesn’t want a fire break and we see it.” The Ukrainian head of state called for the pressure on Moscow: America, Europe and the rest of the world had enough opportunities to force Russia to hire terror and war.

Cars and garages were on fire and around two dozen multi -storey residential buildings were damaged, Lyssak said. President Selenskyj’s hometown is a good 70 kilometers from the front line.

Russia speaks of high precision

The Russian military later confirmed the blow against Krywyj Rih. Moscow, however, spoke of “high precision”. A restaurant was hit in which Ukrainian commanders had met with their western instructors. “Due to the blow, the opponent’s losses were 85 soldiers and officers of foreign states,” says the press release. In addition, around 20 military vehicles were destroyed.

Moscow made no information about civilian victims. On the pictures published by the Ukrainian side of the location of the attack, there were no evidence of military goals. The Ukrainian general staff spoke of a lie in a message on Telegram. “We explain that Russia is once again spreading false information. The rocket hit a residential area and on a playground,” it said. It was a ballistic rocket of the “Iskander-M” type with scattering ammunition that should hit a larger area and as many people as possible.

According to Selenskyj, Krywyj Rih only joins the series of the latest Russian attacks on civilian objects. In Charkiw, the salvage work is still underway after Russian drone attacks from the night before with five dead and 34 injured. Even the hit with a drone controlled by camera in a power plant could not be a coincidence – “the Russians know that it is an energy system and that these systems have to be protected from any attacks in accordance with the promises of Russia,” accused Russia.

US President Donald Trump and Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin had declined a moratorium for blows against energy objects on a phone call as a minimum consensus – a complete ceasefire. Kyiv later agreed. Since then, both sides have repeatedly accused the agreement. Selenskyj once again asked the USA for consequences.

Meanwhile, the governor of the Russian region of Samara, Wjatscheslaw Fedorischtschew, reported on an Ukrainian drone attack on an industrial activity in the city of Tschapayewsk on Saturday. There are fires, but no injuries. There is an explosive production system in the city.

In his video message, Selenskyj also dealt with a meeting of Ukrainian military with representatives of France and Great Britain. Details on the stationing were discussed by their security quotas. There are noticeable progress on the way to security guarantees for Ukraine, the President praised. Paris and London lead a “coalition of the willing” that wants to secure a possible peace in Ukraine.
