The end of Thomas Müller at Bayern attracted great attention from the fans. A particularly prominent words finds very clear words.
Bayern fan Alexander Zverev says little from the farewell of club legend Thomas Müller. Germany’s best tennis player said in an interview with the TV station Sky: “With Thomas Müller I am disappointed with Bayern, I have to honestly say.” Then he became even clearer: “I find that completely idiotic because he is over 20 years at the club and actually does quite well,” said Zverev.
Müller had already said that little playing time was not a problem for him. “If the colleague just wants to be there for a year or two with the team-he also said that the money was no longer such a huge topic-then he should be there, with the team,” said Zverev’s opinion. “I think that is, as a Bayern fan, idiotic, not wanting to have him with you anymore. I think that’s weak from Bavaria,” said number two in the world of tennis.
Müller had announced in a detailed message on Saturday that he would have liked to play at FC Bayern for another year, but the association decided against an extension of the contract. The games at the club World Cup in June and July will be the last for Müller in the Bavaria dress.
The 2014 world champion came to Bayern in 2000, the youth stations went through before he gave his Bundesliga debut in the 2008/09 season. Under the then coach Jürgen Klinsmann, the attacker was substituted for Miroslav Klose on the 2: 2 against Hamburger SV on the 2: 2 against Hamburger SV.
An unprecedented success story followed: with the Bayern, Müller won the Champions League (2013 and 2020) twice, has so far been twelve times German champion (more often than any other Bundesliga player), six times DFB Cup winner. With over 700 competitive games, Müller is also a record player of Bayern.
Zverev was also raised in the interview on the Mats Hummels announced on Friday. For him, the 27-year-old only had warm words left: “Of course, all the best on Mats. If he wants to end his career, that’s completely in his right. Incredible legend,” he said.
