A seizure worth 9 million, 4 house arrest orders and interdictory measures: it is the outcome of an investigation by the European Prosecutor’s Office and the Marsala prosecutors into a corruption ring and a fraud involving the EU involving former senator Antonio Papaniaamong the recipients of the restrictive measure, and some city councilors.
The investigation concerns two training centers. The suspects allegedly misused more than 8.7 million euros from the European Social Fund (ESF) intended for vocational training. The money was allegedly diverted for personal expenses and for Papania’s political movement.
