Omid Nouripour resigned as Greens chairman. Now his party nominated him for the office of Bundestag Vice President.

The trigger for this was the party’s election defeats in the east. In order to make good politics in Germany for peace, for freedom, for justice, for prosperity and for climate protection, “need change, Nouripour explained the decision at the time at a press conference. He himself not only experienced peace, but also as a child-they apparently also affected his family life.

Up until the age of 13, Nouripour grew up in Tehran and experienced the first Gulf War between Iraq and Iran. After the end, he left Iran, his parents and older sister in August 1988 and found a new home in Frankfurt am Main in Hesse. Nouripour is proud of his new center of life: “I am through and through Frankfurter,” he said in September the “Bild”.

As he reported in the interview, he saw in his childhood with his own eyes how war bombs destroyed neighboring houses. Years later, the experiences triggered fear as a young father. When his wife once placed her 15-year-old son’s baby cradle next to a window, he was “completely freaked out”. The reason: he learned as a child “when the bombs come, the windows crash and that can be fatal”. His wife had to shake him in the situation to calm him down.

The name of Omid Nouripour’s wife is not known. According to the “Bild” report, it comes from East Westphalia. In an interview with “Zeit”, Nouripour also revealed that she was a social scientist. Nouripour has a “wonderful relationship” with his son, as he reveals in his “Bild” interview.

His wife was convinced that he educates him too lax. “She is more consistent and stricter than me. She often turns her eyes and thinks I would forgive our son. She is certainly right with that,” said the 49-year-old. He tried to see his child often and to do a lot with him. “Sometimes it is less possible than I wish,” he told the newspaper.
