If people did not like my real name, then it became unknown
On how Sameer of Shitala Pandey of Banaras, Uttar Pradesh, he says that my first poem was published in a major newspaper of Banaras. At that time, this newspaper was placed on the wall of his office. For the first time, when the poem came, people said that Sheetla Pandey seems to be the name of a clerk or a teacher. Later, two-three poems were written by Rajan, the name of the house, there was no reaction on it. At that time I was reading a novel of Sameer. I thought and gave the next poem by writing by this name. There was a tremendous reaction of people on this. I also got recognition from this.
Father did not want me to be a lyricist
On the question of leaving Banaras and reaching Mumbai, he said that father Lala ji Pandey had achieved success after a long struggle of 17 years. He told me to do everything but do not try to become a lyricist. After studying, I also got a job in a government bank. Meanwhile, my hobby was climbing. I was forced to wonder what I am doing in the bank? Then I left the job. After this, he left directly to Mumbai.
