Keeping in mind the health of the honorable, the new menu of Parliament includes extremely nutritious dishes. In the canteen of Parliament, MPs, officials and visitors will now be served ragi i.e. Mandua Idli, Jowar Upma, Moong Dal Cheela, roasted fish.
The special menu, prepared at the initiative of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, aims to provide nutritious food to MPs and officials who are busy with hours of debate during Parliament sessions.
Keeping in mind the health in the canteen of Parliament, the initiative to provide food is also important in the sense that the proceedings continue for a long time during the session and sometimes till late night. Now in Parliament, a dish, curry, special plate, fiber-rich salad and protein-pack soup will be available in Parliament. Each dish is carefully prepared in such a way that it has low carbohydrates, sodium and calories and more nutrients required for health.

In the menu, foods have been prominently ranked which made headlines in the year 2023, an international coarse grain declared by the United Nations. The main attractions include Ragi Bajra Idli and Chutney (270 kcal), Jowar Upma (206 kcal) and Chinese-free Mix Bajra Kheer (161 kg) along with Sambar. The health of the beverages is depicted in the menu. These will have green and herbal tea, masala sattu and jaggery tasted mango emerald. These can be replaced by sugar rich soda and traditional sweets. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently stated the need to take collective steps to deal with obesity in his address.
Mild breakfast barley-jewelery salad, roasted tomato and basil broth
For mild breakfast, MPs can enjoy colorful salads such as barley and tide salad (294 kcal) and garden fresh salad (113 kcal) as well as roasted tomatoes, basil broths and hot vegetable soups and gram licking. The health of the members consuming non -vegetarians has also been taken care of. For them, nutritious options such as grilled chicken and grilled fish are available for them.

The amount of calories will be written on every dish
- Each dish is carefully prepared to keep carbohydrates, sodium and minimum amount of calories as well as rich in essential nutrients.
- Apart from this, the amount of calories will also be written in front of the names of dishes in the health menu.
