BJP leader Amit Malviya recalled the Congress’ protest in Parliament in 2021 against the proposal of the Center to connect Aadhaar on X on X and said that now the Congress wants the same.

He wrote on X that in 2021, the Modi government proposed to voluntarily connect the voter ID to Aadhaar. The Congress staged a protest with placards inside the Parliament and shouted that the Aadhaar is only for the targeted profit distribution. It cannot be associated with voter ID! Now in 2025, the Congress wants Aadhaar to verify the voter ID. The same basis. The same voter ID. Just expose the hypocrisy. Anything for the vote – even if it means shamelessly.

Earlier on Thursday, before the Bihar elections, the Supreme Court gave a big verdict on the announcement of a special inquiry into the voter list by the Election Commission. The court said during the hearing in the case that a special investigation of the voter list in Bihar will continue.

The court has asked the Election Commission (ECI) to consider considering the Aadhaar card, ration card and voter ID card as an identity card in this process. Also file an answer on three issues. The Supreme Court issued a notice to the Election Commission and fixed the next date of hearing 28 July.
