7 Days to Die 1.0 is now available on Steam

The game “7 Days to Die” has finally reached its Version 1.0 release. After nearly twelve years in early access, the official stable version launched on Steam and Microsoft PC on July 25, 2024. The console editions for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will be available soon, likely within the next few weeks.

This new version includes several major updates. Players can now enjoy a more polished game with numerous quality-of-life improvements. These updates range from new content and features to enhanced gameplay systems.

One of the most notable additions is the new HD character system. Players can now customize their characters with high-definition models, new animations, and detailed skin and hair shaders. This system also allows for extensive character customization, including different races and face options.

Another significant update is the new challenge system. The old tutorial quest and journal system have been replaced with a new system that helps both new and veteran players. This system includes over 120 unique challenges across twelve categories, such as Basics of Survival, Crafting, and Zombie Slayer. Completing these challenges can earn players XP and other rewards, making the game more engaging.

The update also brings new vehicle models and improvements to existing ones. Vehicles now have additional seating and can be equipped with new armor mods. For example, the 4×4 truck now comes with four default seats and can be modded to hold up to six players.

The random world generation (RWG) system has also been optimized. It now creates better-looking worlds faster, with improved urban planning and layout. The game now features more Points of Interest (POIs), larger cities, and more diverse biomes. The new RWG tool improvements include various biome distribution presets and new district colors.

The release of Version 1.0 also introduces new high-tier locations for players to explore, such as the Haven Hotel and the Navezgane Athletics Complex. These new locations provide players with more challenging environments and richer experiences.

In addition to these updates, the developers have promised continuous support and new content post-launch. This includes more lifelike and detailed creatures, new gameplay systems, and further optimizations.

For PlayStation 4 owners of the original digital version, there is a 25% discount on the new PS5 console edition. However, the availability of the console edition in regions like Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan is still pending rating service approval.
