“Yellow-red was wrong”
Referee is very annoyed about his own sending off

Sven Jablonski wasn’t particularly lucky with his dismissals in the Bundesliga game between VfL Wolfsburg and VfB Stuttgart: he can fix one wrong one with a little help, but the other one remains. And that causes a lot of trouble.
Referee Sven Jablonski admitted a clear wrong decision after his yellow-red card against Atakan Karazor – and suggested a change to the rules. The 34-year-old had sent off the VfB Stuttgart midfielder in the game at VfL Wolfsburg (2:2), even though Karazor had actually been fouled by opponent Maximilian Arnold. The video images of the scene in the 63rd minute showed this clearly.
“I noticed a foul on Arnold, the player also held his ankle and said that he felt a stitch,” said Jablonski on Sky: “I have now seen the pictures and have to realize that it was Arnold Hitting his opponent was the wrong yellow-red, that really annoys me.”
Referees are only able to study the video images when it comes to a straight red card – a dismissal due to the second yellow card is not one of the situations that may be examined. “Even with yellow-red, I would like us to have the chance to go to the screen and check the scene,” said Jablonski: “Then I would have discovered that very quickly.”
There had already been expected criticism of Jablonski’s decision: “Unfortunately, the referee’s influence on the game was huge,” said Stuttgart goalkeeper Alexander Nübel, adding that scenes like the one that led to the expulsion occurred “15 times in every game.”
