Pbks vs kkr
The IPL 2025 witnessed a low-scoring match on 15 April. Punjab Kings defended the smallest score in IPL history and won an exciting victory against KKR. The Punjab Kings team came out for 111 runs, batting first in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders. At the same time, KKR’s team chased the target and was all out for 95 runs. In this way, Punjab created history by winning by 16 runs in a low scoring match. Earlier, Chennai Super Kings won the score in 2009 after scoring 116 runs against Punjab.
PBKS vs KKR: Punjab batsmen disappointed
Talking about the match, Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and decided to bat first. His decision proved to be completely wrong. Punjab openers Priyansh Arya (22 runs) and Prabhasimran Singh (30 runs) gave the team a good start. But other batsmen of the team were seen struggling to score runs. Apart from Priyansh and Prabhasimran, only Nehal Vadhera (10), Shashank Singh (18) and Xavier Bartlet (11) could reach the double digit score. Harshit Rana was the most successful bowler for KKR, he took 2 wickets for 25 runs. Varun Chakraborty and Sunil Narayan also got two wickets each.
Punjab bowlers did wonders
KKR started chasing the target very poorly. In the very first over, Marco Yansen bowled Sunil Naren and gave a big blow to Kolkata. Quinton de Kock also continued in the second over. Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi handled the innings after the score of 7 runs fell two wickets. KKR scored 62 runs when captain Ajinkya Rahane was dismissed in the 8th over. He was dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal. If Rahane had taken DRS, he would have survived, but he did not do so. Rahane scored 17 runs.
After Rahane, Angkrish was out on Chahal’s ball after scoring 37 runs. Glenn Maxwell sent Venkatesh Iyer to the pavilion. Chahal dismissed Rinku Singh and Ramandeep Singh for two consecutive balls and pushed KKR to the backfoot. However, against Chahal, Andre Russell tried to return by scoring 16 runs in an over. From here, KKR needed 17 runs in 36 balls to win. In the 15th over, Arshdeep Singh dismissed Vaibhav Arora. On the first ball of the next over, Yansen bowled Russell and gave Punjab exciting.
