Director Jagdish Gautam first made a film ‘Shaheed-e-Azam’ on the life of Bhagat Singh. The film left such an impression of Bhagat Singh and his life that after this, more than half a dozen films were made on Bhagat Singh’s life. But the special thing is that almost every time the film made on Bhagat Singh’s life made good money at the box office. In this film, Bhagat Singh was played by Prem Adeeb. In this film with Prem, actors like Smriti Vishwas and Aishita Majumdar played the lead roles. People liked this film very much and this is where people also awakened in telling Bhagat Singh’s life story on the film screen. After the film Shaheed-e-Azam, in the year 1963, Shammi Kapoor made a second Bollywood film on Bhagat Singh’s life and named it ‘Shaheed Bhagat Singh’. The film was directed by KN Bansal and Shammi Kapoor himself played the lead role. This film was also successful in earning well at the box office. After this, in the year 1965, Manoj Kumar made a film called ‘Shaheed’ which was based on the life of Bhagat Singh and directed by Ram Sharma.
After this, in the year 2002, Ajay Devgan also won the hearts of the people by playing the role of Bhagat Singh. Ajay Devgan’s film ‘The Legends of Bhagat Singh’ was made by director Rajkumar Santoshi. Ajay Devgan was also well liked in this film. After this, in 2002, the film called ‘Shaheed-e-Azam’ showed the saga of Bhagat Singh’s life which was directed by Sukumar Nair. This year Sunny Deol starrer film ‘Shaheed’ was released. The story of this film also explore the lives of Bhagat Singh and his fellow revolutionaries.
