Usha Bala Chilukuri Vance was born in San Diego in 1986, a big city south of Los Angeles in the state of California. Her father as an engineer, her mother as a microbiologist.
Her parents attached great importance to bringing her daughter Usha closer to religious traditions and practices of Hinduism in childhood. Usha Vance described this in a speech at the Republican party congress in 2024 in the small town of Milwaukee in the US state of Wisconsin as the basis of her values.
