In the year 2018, a woman lodged a complaint at the Zirakpur police station. The complainant was alleged to have seduced Bajinder Singh by promising to take her abroad. Then she raped her at her residence in Sector 63, Mohali and also made a video of her. The woman had alleged that the accused had threatened that if she did not accept her demands, she would post the video on social media. Swayambhu Christian preacher Bajinder Singh has been convicted under Section 376 (rape), 323 (deliberately punished) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of BNS.

According to BBC, Pastor Bajinder Singh hails from Karnal district of Haryana. Swayambhu is the founder of the ‘The Church of Glory and Wisdom’ in Bajinder Jalandhar. According to PTI, Bajinder Singh has been sentenced to life imprisonment from the court at a time when another case of sexual harassment has been registered on February 28. The 22 -year -old woman has accused Bajinder of harassment. The Kapurthala police has formed a three -member special investigation team to investigate the case. On March 25, the Mohali police registered a case against Bajinder in assault and other charges. In fact, a video of Bajinder went viral on social media, in which he was allegedly arguing with a woman and slapping her.
