What is the DDPF movement (defense of the rights of French prisoners)? These four letters were found in particular tagged, with red paint, on the door of the Toulon-La Farlède penitentiary center, attacked on the night of Monday to Tuesday by several people who shot heavy weapons on the entrance borrowed by the prison vans.
The same inscriptions were also discovered this Wednesday in the hall of a building where a penitentiary supervisor in Villenoy (Seine-et-Marne) lives, where the start of fire was also noted. Since Sunday, a series of attacks has been targeting French prisons, mainly via vehicle fires, in Villepinte, Valence, Nanterre, Aix-Luynes, or this Wednesday in Tarascon … Eight vehicles were also burned in front of the National School of Penitentiary Administration (ENAP) of Agen, by hooded individuals who fled.
Darmanin photomontage behind bars
The DDPF group created a Telegram canal on April 12, in which it presents itself as “a movement dedicated to denouncing attacks on our fundamental rights”. For example, he protests against the duration of walks. “We are reduced to a walk in the afternoon, every other day, and only for an hour,” he wrote, against “2:30 in the morning and 2:30 in the afternoon, four years ago”. He also points to “the cost of telephone booths, the abolition of activities”, evokes violence of supervisors and “physical and psychological pressures”. And it clearly aims at the Minister of Justice Gérald Darmanin, who is seen behind bars in a photomontage.
If all the messages, sometimes full of faults, lack consistency, the attacks of the past few days against French prisons are in any case widely relayed. This Wednesday was also published a threatening video against a supervisor, whose name was disclosed. This, like others, has since been removed by Telegram.
“The desire to put the agents in a climate of terror and insecurity”
These threats worry unions of the prison administration. “Threats and intimidation inside is the daily lot,” observes the national secretary of UFAP UNSA Justice, Wilfried Fonck, “that it becomes outside, it’s worrying”. He denounces an “operating mode which reaches another level” with “the desire to put the agents directly in a climate of terror and insecurity”.
Emmanuel Baudin, secretary general of the FO-Justice union, evokes “the fear of collective movements within establishments”. Wednesday morning, “security forces were present at the service of agents”, according to representative FO, calling the supervisors at “discretion”.
“Young offenders paid a few thousand euros to do this kind of thing”
But who could hide behind this DDPF group? Would it be just a smoke screen? “We were told that it was ultra -ke, we were told that it was Narco, or why not a foreign manipulation: who organizes all of this, it is not for us priority,” said trade unionist Wilfried Fonck.
Questioned this Wednesday by “CNews”the Keeper of the Seals Gérald Darmaninn seems to favor the track of narcobanditism, more than that of the ultra -ke, that the police nevertheless take seriously. “I do not exclude anything,” he said, “but when we shoot the Kalashnikov against penitentiary centers, it is rather an operating mode of young delinquents paid a few thousand euros to do this kind of thing,” analyzes the Minister. And social networks create these kinds of mimetic moments which aim, on all points of the territory, to make the state back down, that the prison agents are afraid … “
“We are not terrorists” defends the group
According to Gérald Darmanin, his decision to create high security prisons for the most dangerous drug traffickers would be the trigger for this wave. “It is the first time that the French state has taken steps so firm, so dangerous for their traffic, that they (narcotrafiating) have to take this kind of initiatives. “The Minister also considers to take” measures against laxity that may have existed so far in prisons, “he advances, which has led drugs to be able to continue for prison cells”, as well as escapes, “like M.amra, by having two penitentiary agents at Kalashnikov. »»
Our file on prisons
While the national anti -terrorist prosecution (PNAT) announced on Tuesday to seize the investigation, the DDPF group published a message “to make things clear”. “M.Darmanin thinks of riding the wave to make what he wants in the media (sic). Know that we are not terrorists (…) War is you, Darmanin, who sparked it, we just want human rights to be respected. »»
Still on “CNews”, Gérald Darmanin warned: “We are not going to go back. And to promise that investigators “will find these people”.
