Former US President Joe Biden
US President Donald Trump said on Monday that he is “ending” the Secret Service Security of his predecessor who Bidon’s children Hunter and Ashley. This security facility was provided by Biden before leaving the White House in January. Trump alleged that 18 agents were deployed for the protection of Hunter Biden while holidaying in South Africa this week, which he described as “ridiculous”. At the same time, 13 agents were deployed to protect Ashley Biden, whose security will also be removed from the list.
18 agents for Hunter Biden
Donald Trump wrote, “Please inform that Hunter Biden will not be provided secret service security with immediate effect. Similarly, Ashley Biden for whom 13 agents were, will also be removed from the security list.” When the US President was asked if he would cancel the safety of the son of the former President, he said, “This is the first time I heard about it. We have done this with many people. I would say that if there are 18 agents for Hunter Biden, this is something that I will see this afternoon. I will look at it.”
Security force information about Trump’s decision
A secret service spokesperson told the AFP that the security force was aware of Trump’s decision. The spokesperson said, “We are aware of the President’s decision to end security for Hunter and Ashley Biden. The Secret Service will comply with this and is working with the White House and security details to implement it as soon as possible.”
When does secret service security get?
Under the US federal law, former President and his spouses get a lifetime secret service security. His immediate family member gets security as long as he remains the presidency. Both Trump and Biden provided security to their adult children for six months before leaving the White House.
